Wally B. showed up at the 2005 Fun Ride fundraiser for VF (formerly WGA). Since then an adoption has taken place. He traveled far to get here and this is his story...

Well, here I am, my name is Wally B. and I came an awful long way to see, why my chopper and my handsome face is on a flyer, and a friend of mine told me that you Danette, had the key!

O.K. so here’s the story. An old chum of mine came back from America to the outback and walked in to a pub and said “look at this” and ‘What’s it all about” and handed me this flyer with me picture on it. (not a good one, but me, I’m much better looking in person!) Anyway, I started thinking I wonder what this was all about, so after some consideration I decided that I was going to North Carolina and find out!

But now came the #1 problem, money, to get there etc, etc. Well my mates say “No Worries”. We’ll have a poker run and you can auction off your chopper and away you Go! (I figure they’re being real helpful, not to mention, now that I’ll be gone they’ll have all them Shelia’s to themselves!)

Anyway we got it done and got all my stuff and off we hop down to the docks. All I had was the flyer but I knew I had to get to North Carolina (maps of N.C. are pretty scarce in the Outback.) What a trip, a slowfreighter from hell I could have hopped my way to America with my tail tied behind my back, but hopping on water I ain’t figured out yet! Finally I got here. Thought I’d go to a libray (can’t spell none to good!) 1st thing. They wouldn’t let me in said I was a Wallabe, therefore an animal and no animals allowed. I was a bit insulted. But about that time I met a “Biker”. OK I thought, he’s a human but at least my own kind! Well, he gave me a ride in the back of his truck and took me to his house!

He helped me get on the internet and I found out what this flyer was all about, how important it was for me to get to the Roadhouse 54 and help as much as I could. So here I am. I hitched and I hopped. I met a lot of nice people and told them about this Wegener’s Association and what they’re doing! And they were all eager to help me get here! I want to thank you for making me important and using me picture. I’m pretty proud of me (me mum is too!) There’s only one thing left I need, “A home!” And it only makes perfect sense for me to stay with you, and your hubby, so I’m right where the action is! So let’s ride, I’m part of the family now, I’ve adopted you!

"Thank you Larry and Cherie Ezzell. I love Wally B.!"
